When Should I Start Teaching My Baby Sign Language?
When should I start teaching my baby sign language?
Well, the earlier the better! You can start teaching your baby sign language as early as 6 months of age.
What signs should I start teaching first?
You will want to start teaching signs that your baby will use most frequently like: mom - dad - eat - milk - hungry - drink - more - please - thank you - cat or dog, etc.
How do I teach my baby sign language?
You want to keep learning fun for your baby. Incorporate signing in your daily routine. Give praise to your baby when he/she uses signs. Gradually grow your baby's signing vocabulary based on your baby's interest.
Use combination communication [signing and verbalization] whenever possible.
